(More customer reviews)I had the opposite experience than the other reviewer - I have had this lock for 5mos now and it is still working great. It is a bit bulky because the cable is thick and long, but I wrap it up tight and got myself a velcro zip-tie to keep it tightly wound so it will use up as little space as possible (about 3"x6" at the moment).

I have used the lock to lock up my bike, my helmet, my leathers, and other valuables that I keep on or around my motorcycle and it has always locked and unlocked with ease.

I use smaller cables now for my leathers, helmet, and saddlebags, but I still use this one to lock up my bike - and I trust that the lock will keep my bike safe.

I recommend it.

I live in NYC by the way. If you live here you need a either huge chain or kryptonite high end U locks.

all braided cables are no good in NYC no matter how thick they are. It was such an expensive lesson, i hope other bikers make a wise decision.

(More customer reviews)This winch had two major problems, first, the power connector was not keyed, so that it could be installed with hot wire to ground...not a good thing.Second the winch continually bound up, that is the cable would not rewind evenly but rewound all on one side jamming it so that it required disassembly to unjam.I called the help line and they were, surprise, no help.Only sugestion was to ship it to a but this was an expensive lesson.I had to pay the shiping both ways.Interesting for all Amazon shopers, they disclaim any responsibility for third pary sellers, even though you but it from their web page. Bad Amazon! I bought a Power winch from West Marine for 50 bucks less and it works great.

(More customer reviews)I bought this winch thinking it was a two speed , since its description said it had two gears.It turns out the two gears are there so you can use the handle on the right or left side.Aside from that, the winch works very smooth and since the gears are enclosed in the housing you do not have to worry about getting grease on your clothes when you secure your boat.
